Dignity Initiative is a Kathmandu-based research and advocacy organization working to strengthen the Dalit rights movement in Nepal. Although Dalit comprises 13.4 percent of Nepal’s population, they continue to face political exclusion, economic deprivation and socio-cultural discrimination. For more than seventy years, they have been fighting for equality, justice, and dignity. To support this ongoing struggle, Dignity Initiative conducts in-depth research on the multifaceted issues facing Dalits, fosters critical public discourse on caste, and supports the Dalit rights movement by providing data, evidence, and policy insights.
