This session will feature Jakub Babuska, who will deliver a thought-provoking talk on how Nepal’s constitutional law intersects with social hierarchies and minority experiences. Through comparative insights and grounded analysis, he will shed light on overlooked narratives and invite reflection on law as lived reality.

About the Speaker:

Jakub Babuska is a PhD researcher in law at Edinburgh Law School, University of Edinburgh. He holds an LLB from the University of Warwick and an MA in Medical Ethics and Law from King’s College London. His research spans constitutional law, the sociology of law, and psychoanalysis.

Over the past four years, he has conducted extensive legal fieldwork in Nepal, supported by fully funded research projects in Japan and Scotland. He currently coordinates a research initiative on constitutional stability in Asia, funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s Pearls of Science II Grant.
